Come out and play

spades and buckets on sand

Leave your phones at home and come out and play. I’m so glad I’m not a kid these days. We didn’t have any of these smartphones. We went out and play. We were outside for hours. We used to play outdoor games like hide and seek. We weren’t obsessed with gadgets like kids seems to be today. It’s a shame mobiles have taken over peoples lives. You see people walking or cycling with their phones in their hands. There must be something really important so their own safety is secondary importance. What is even worse is parents giving phones to small children. What will kids do with gadgets anyway? Kids should be out playing. They’re only children once. The rest of their lives they have time to play with their phones. It’s really up to the parents to teach their kids that phones are just a tool and it shouldn’t take over a life. Mobiles are a poor host.

The world is out there and not in smartphones. It seems smartphones makes people stupid. Everyone should have a rule when it comes to phones, do not use one while driving, cycling or walking. In China, they have made a lane for those mobile walkers. It looks so stupid when they play with their phones while walking. They should have a lane like that here too. People really are pathetic. I wonder if they realise how addicted they are to their phones. Soon people can’t communicate face to face at all. Then introverts are called anti-social. People addicted to their phones are the ones being anti-social. Some people have the wrong idea of what a phone is used for. It is a blessing and a curse. I feel really sorry for those who can’t be away from their phones. You always see some young person listening to music on their phone while being outside. The best music is nature sounds and they will never experience it with their headphones on. They miss a lot of it because of that. They don’t even leave their phones when they go to the forest.

It’s really disrespecting if a person rather be on their phones than talking to you. Phones should really stop working when you’re in traffic or talking to someone. No one has invented such thing yet. Someone really should. Maybe someday some smart person who is experts in technology will get a realisation. Maybe people are on their phones a lot so they don’t miss anything. But you don’t have to know everything. You don’t need to find out things you don’t really need. I rather go outside and play, than be obsessed with knowledge. If I want to know something, I use a computer. I don’t like these so-called smartphones. Even using my tablet gets me annoyed. Call me old school but I already had my current mobile for at least 10 years and it’s still working like a charm. Phones these days break too easily and the battery is dead after one day. I don’t need anything fancy anyway. Phones are made for making calls and possible text messaging. The rest is just an unnecessary mess. Some use the phone to play when it there are so much more important things to do. There is a life outside it so come out a play and leave your phone at home.

I know you're there. Why do you linger in the shadows?
