What are you laughing at?

My favorite genre is comedy (other is action) People find different things funny. And some have no sense of humour. I laugh at almost anything. What I don’t find funny, is things like Jackass. Grown men doing stuff where they get hurt, looks childish to me. The only thing that is funny, is how stupid they look. The American Pie movies are childish as well. Not my kind of thing at all.

But I must admit, below the belt jokes are kind of funny. Only when they are tastefully done though. Like Austin Powers. “Do I make you feel horny, baby” Suggestions kind of things. Not really saying it out loud. Difficult to describe in English (in any language to be precise) I hope you understand what I mean.

I mostly laugh at funny faces or someone falling over. I love British comedy. Monty Python, Mr Bean, The Fast show, just to name a few. I think older sketch programs are better than new ones. Even though Little Britain is kind of amusing but not as good as older comedy shows. I absolutely love Stephen Fry, Rowan Atkinson, Billy Connelly and Hugh Laurie. They really have become big stars outside the UK.

Most comedy shows and movies I like are Americans. They just happen to be something I find funny. And they are very good at it. I’ve been watching The Golden Girls lately and it never gets old. They just don’t make those kind of shows anymore. Move over Sex in the city. You’ll never be as good as The Golden Girls! I tried to watch Sex in the city but I just didn’t find it funny. There were something funny but I don’t really care about relationship and that kind of TV shows.

I did write about what I like last year and humour was one on my 5 favorite things. Jim Carrey is my favourite but I also like Robin Williams. He’s really talented. His interviews are never dull. He can also play serious roles and still be believable. It’s also a pleasure to watch Conan. A shame it’s not shown on Finnish TV. But thanks to Youtube I can always watch the best parts. It’s much better than Jay Leno. Even though his show is not bad either.

I’m really glad older comedy show that I used to watch when I was a child are released on DVD. Which reminds me, I should really watch that Love Boat DVD I bought weeks ago. I hope I don’t die laughing.

My guilty pleasure: Fan fiction

imagination

Or I don’t even know if I can call it that. Fan fiction are usually written and read by horny teenagers. The stories are based on TV series or movies and it’s characters. But I’m not really into that. I don’t really understand this infatuation to Slash fan fiction either. It’s a bit disturbing reading about heterosexuals turning homosexuals. Unless they really are but that’s a different matter.

I don’t really read fan fiction. Unless it’s about Formula One drivers. I’ve written a few of those. I even had a blog about it here on WordPress last year. But those fan fictions are in the past. I haven’t written any fiction lately. I prefer those RPF (Real Person Fiction) Writing them that is. I don’t think I never read one. I only write them for me. Only in English. It’s good practise and also a way to get thoughts out of my head. I get inspirations of the people (men in this case) I write about. And boy what an inspiration they give me. I don’t even know if I can call my fictions real person fiction. The only thing that is real, are the names. And maybe a little of their personality. But other things are just in my imagination. And why would they mind, it’s not like they will know. Even if I decided to post them on the internet. Which could happen. Or it would not.

Winter Olympics 2014 over, what now?

I’ve been following sports closely since I was a teen. Winter sport especially. And some auto racing. Never really been into summer sports. I don’t really care about summer Olympics. Compared to winter, it’s a total bore. Winter has always been my favorite season as well.

My favorite winter sport is ice hockey and was disappointed Finland didn’t get to the finals. But at least we won bronze. That’s a great achievement in the Olympics. Team sport seems to be the strongest for the Finns. Ice hockey is a very big thing over here. It’s when people come together and even the men get emotional. And that’s rare for Finns in general. I don’t watch ice hockey that much other times since it’s only shown on pay-per-view. But when Finland plays in tournaments, I watch every match I can. And who doesn’t want to support their own country.

Finland hasn’t really had any success in recent years. You could almost call it a crisis. Ski jumping and especially men’s cross-country has been in big trouble. But the Sochi success has proved, there is a light in the end of the tunnel for cross-country skiing. Finland winning silver in both 4x5km relay and team sprint for ladies and gold for the men. Hard work really has paid off. If the hard work will continue, who knows where Finnish winter sport will continue. Being a small country, compared to e.g. Norway, even one medal will open new opportunities.

So what now? The winter Olympics are over and life will continue normally. Everyday there’s been something to look forward to. Lots of exciting competitions. Heart pounding excitement, sorrow and heartache. Good times and bad times. All in one. That’s one of the reasons sport is so popular. Some are more excited than others. Those that don’t care is really missing something. I for one would be bored out of my mind, if I didn’t like sport. I don’t know what was on my mind when I was a kid. I was one of those that didn’t watch sport that much. Maybe tennis or football from time to time. But other times, I had other things on my mind. When I found the thrill to watch sport, I would never want to go back.
