Feast your eyes on this post

Got your attention? This post is not really a feast though. Boring more like it. Or it depends what boring is. For me, it’s reading uninteresting things on social media. Using it is like talking to a wall or like space where no one hears your screams. I don’t know why I bother posting on Twitter. It’s really rare I get any reactions. Maybe my posts are only interesting to me. People expect you to comment on their posts but they don’t give any to you. The Internet can be so frustrated. You never know if someone reads your things. Like this blog. Sometimes I’m paranoid people like a post only because of the blog title photo and don’t read the post at all. Of course, most do. At least I hope so. Thanks if you do.

Searching for advice from the internet can be annoying too. There are so many different ways to say things. But all this advice doesn’t work for everyone. How to get a job. What to wear on a date. How to start a business. How to get more followers on your blog/social media account. And so on. Everything is romanticised. Real life is different. Things don’t work for everyone. Some people’s lives are destined to fail. They don’t win money. Get their dream job. Find Mr/Miss Right. Travel the world etc. There’s a lot of experts out there who give advice to other people but everything won’t work. You need luck in this world. Even better if you’re young and pretty/handsome. You have to look and be in a certain way to get accepted. Sometimes I hate people. There are so many stupid people out there. Before searching for intelligent life outside earth, maybe they should find them on this planet first. Maybe stupidity is the new sexy. There have always been stupid people but now there seems to be born one each day. Smart advice can look stupid too.

People might not be stupid but they take photos where they look stupid. You see a lot of selfies like that. Someone actually wants to make a fool of themselves in public. You see them in reality shows that I absolutely despise. Programs like that make people stupid. If you want to rest your mind then watch cat videos on Youtube for example. At least those are fun unlike shows like Big brother and crap like that. But who am I to judge. People have the right to watch what they want. If they want to use their energy to that then so be it. As long as I don’t have to watch them. Any reality shows where people make a fool of themselves are in my ‘no way’- list. I’ve got better things to do than wasting my time on those things. People post so many stupid things on the internet because it’s so easy. You can post your opinions anonymously and no one would know who you are. That’s why bullying is so easy. It’s online and it stays there. If stupidity would be a crime, there would be a lot of people getting arrested right now. All we can do is not acting stupid or say stupid things. If we act like any other stupid person there would be no smart people left. So try to be smart about, OK?

New door do not open

You know the saying, when one door closes, another opens. Well, I’ve tried to open a lot of doors but they still remain closed. I’m speaking in metaphors of course. Mostly doors about opportunities. Or lack of them that is. Sometimes it feels like I’m being lied to so I don’t take chances because of that. I have never got anything in life easy. I didn’t even get away from household chores when I was a child. My mother always said to me to clean up but she only wanted to teach me responsibility. When other kids got pocket money without having to do anything, I actually had to work for it. She also taught me to save money for a rainy day. I just wish I could earn that money instead of living on benefits. That’s where this open door thing comes in.

I opened doors to studying and thought that would open another door. But instead, it hasn’t brought me any opportunities. No matter how strong you are mentally it still bothers you what’s wrong with you that not even Lady Luck knocks on your door. You know you can do things but no one really pays you any attention. It doesn’t help in what school you attended and how many educations you have. That door just won’t open. I’ve started to think why the reason might be and I came to the conclusion it’s work experience. I have it but they’re internships. Some don’t see that has experience. Sorry but that’s all I have been given. Just because I haven’t got paid a real salary, it doesn’t mean it isn’t work experience. Should I find a time machine so I can go back in time to find a “real job”? I don’t think so. It seems some employers are idiots. OK, fine don’t give me a chance. Your loss. It shouldn’t matter if you got paid for the job or not. I don’t know what internships should be called then if not work experience. They’re done in a real working environment and not done at home. An internship is better than nothing. Some don’t even have that.

Those internships haven’t helped much. All of those places haven’t opened any doors. So when people say internships will help to get a job is just nonsense. Employers only want to exploit cheap labour. All this propaganda that unemployment has decreased are just fillers in the media. Whoever believes in that are fools. Only the people with good connections will open the next door. All those unlucky ones have to settle for what they got. Most people have dreams and goals but they don’t have a chance to make them true because they have so many other issues to handle. Everyone can’t become entrepreneurs or be at the right place at the right time.

Sometimes I want to give up and not even try to open another door. But then motivation kicks in and I’m full of hope. It doesn’t take long but at least I see it. Failing is part of life but it’s like the heatwave, it’s only temporarily. Even successful people have had it rough but they didn’t give up. If they had, they wouldn’t be here to courage people. Intentionally or unintentionally. Everyone has doubts. A lot of athletes have had injuries and they thought they wouldn’t be as good as they were before it. They believed in themselves and they made a comeback (like Novak Djokovic who won Wimbledon yesterday) Things like that lifts up my spirit. Believing in yourself when no one else seems to is the best revenge. I will try to open every door until I find the door that opens. It must out there somewhere.

The day after The Daily Post ends

never lose hope on wall

Realised at about 3 pm that there won’t be a new daily prompt in The Daily Post anymore. Felt something was missing. Every day there was a new word but now there’s is none. Or a new photo challenge every week. I thought what should I write about now. An old prompt maybe? The problem is there is no place on their site where you can click on a random word. It used to be ‘Try another’ but it seems to have been taken away. You have to search the whole archive to find the prompts. It’s just too complicated so maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to blog about old topics after all. I guess I have to restart my thinking. We’ll see how this post will go. This prompt is from March this year.

There are other prompts out there but they will never replace The Daily Post. They’re like a family member who’s passed away. No one will be them because they’re unique in their own way. Of course, it’s not grief. Or maybe it is for someone. They’re not really gone because the site is still online. We can still go back and read about blogging. It will be interesting to see what The Daily Post have posted in the past. If you haven’t browsed it already.

So how are You coping? Do you have the day after blues or have you accepted the loss of The daily post and their challenges? If you ask me, it does feel empty and I don’t know what to do. I always looked forward to the next challenge. But I get used to it not seeing it again. Soon it will only be a memory and I would have moved on. It will be more boring but I just have to substitute the emptiness with other things.
