So many movies so little money

So 2015 started and a new year is here. So what to do. See movies of course. In a movie theater/cinema to be precise. I don’t go that often because in recent years there haven’t been movies I’ve wanted to see. I usually went a few times a year. It’s also quite expensive. I don’t really fancy being in the theater. There’s always something disturbing. Someone talking or someone rustling with their candy bags. Just other people basically. Also quite irritating that people are rushing out after the movie theater like there’s a fire somewhere. I always stay to the end.

Last year I went 4 times which is quite rare. But they were movies I wanted to see. (Guardians of the galaxy, Into to the storm and The Hobbit (twice) ) I only pay for a ticket for a movie that are worth my time and it’s always in 2D. I don’t like 3D. This year there’s gonna be quite a few. Yes there is life after The Hobbit 😉

Seventh Son
It’s out today (January 2) in Finland. It’s based on a book. Starring Ben Barnes ❤ ,Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Kit Harington. I’m planning to go in next week.

Exodus: Gods and Kings
It was realised in December 26 over here but then I saw the ticket price, I decided to wait. And I still wait. It seems I have to wait until they have a day when it’s less expensive. Or I won’t go at all. The reason I want to see it is, Christian Bale. And I saw the trailer before The Hobbit movie started. It also looks interesting. It has a lot of criticism but who really cares. It’s a movie for crying out loud. Nothing to do with real events.

The Imitation game
Two words: Benedict Cumberbatch. I haven’t seen the trailer or don’t know what it’s about. I usually try to found information about a movie first before I decide to watch it or not. This time I’m gonna take another approach. The movie will be out in February so it’s gonna take a while.

Paddington
This was also out on January 2. I didn’t think of going to see this but I saw the trailer and it looked like fun. I remember watching Paddington on TV when I was a child. I still have a Paddinton piggy bank. The bear is sitting on his suitcase, wearing a hat. Like this one but the jacket is blue. I have it in a box somewhere.
There’s also a dubbed version of the movie but imagine Nicole Kidman “speaking” Finnish 😀 The original is always the best.

So quite a lot of movies for me to see this year. If I get to see them (bloody ticket prices) that’s another story. This is my “going to see a movie”- plan 2015.

The reason why The Oscars is a big farce

I decided to watch The Oscars after all last night. Even though I didn’t plan to. Usually I wouldn’t care much about it. First of all, it’s usually just a show-off party where celebrities dress up and feel important for a night. And secondly the nominations are quite boring. Those that really deserve a nomination are never nominated. Also there’s too many awards. Who really cares about those less important ones. Face it, all that people care about is who wins Best Actor/Actresses and Best Picture.

One of the reason I watched the show was because Ellen was the presenter and she’s really funny. She did a great job. But what was this ordering pizza thing? Were they trying to fill the time with this nonsense? That was really boring and silly. That ‘Selfie’ thing was OK but that pizza thing wasn’t. I was more embarrassed for the actors who took part in it. It was different but still unnecessary. The rest was great. Ellen wasn’t chosen to be the presenter for nothing.

What makes a farce of this show is the nominations and the winners. The Academy has never appreciated trilogies or movie series like Bond and such. Those kind of movies never get nominated. The people in the academy seem to have been stuck in a rut. They don’t want anything new. “It’s always been like that” they might say. OK, whatever. Time for a change in “your policy”
This years The Oscars were unpredictable. What annoyed me the most was the same movie winning awards; ‘Gravity’ I never hated a movie I haven’t seen but this one really got on my nerves. If it was a person I would strangle it. I was glad it didn’t win Best Picture. That would have been so wrong. Even though I find 12 Years of Slave a bore, that’s better then bloody ‘Gravity’ And even Benedict Cumberbatch won the award. Yay.
Even if I like Sandra Bullock as an actress, I was happy she didn’t win Best Actress. That was an award I was happy Cate Blanchett won. Not only because she’s also in The Hobbit movies but also because she really deserved to win.
Best Actor was the only award that got the nominations right. All 5 deserved the award. Yet again, no award for Leo DiCaprio this time either. But he doesn’t need an award to prove what he’s worth. Same goes with Christian Bale (looked great btw). Matthew McConaughey really deserved to win. Especially after all the great effort he did for the role.

‘Gravity’ is the curse word of today. Especially for the Best Visual Effects. That’s injustice. The Hobbit should have won that. Smaug is the most impressive creation ever. And I’m not just saying it because I love the movie. ‘Gravity’ is nothing compared to that.
But maybe next year, The Hobbit will get the nominations and the wins. Well, it did happen to Lord of the rings so why not now.

Please,no more creepy stuff thank you very much

Since I saw ‘Snow White and Seven Dwarfs’ at age 3, I haven’t liked creepy stuff. I never been into vampires, monsters etc. kind of movies or TV shows. The likes of ‘True Blood’, ‘Supernatural’ nor ‘The Walking Dead’ just creeps me out. Even the Orcs or Uruk Hai’s in ‘Lord of the rings’ were creepy. At the start I just couldn’t look when they were on the screen. I’ve watched X-Files a few times and even then, I just looked away. I just find it disgusting. I’ve never watched ‘American Psycho’ with Christian Bale because of the creepy stuff. Even seeing scenes from the movie, is difficult. I just can’t do it. When watching e.g. CSI where they show dead bodies, makes me look away as well.

When I was 7, I watched a movie in secret from my parents in my room. In it, there was a dead body with its eyes opened in a trunk of a car and the killer with a wrench in its hand. I saw nightmares a few nights after that. I still remember it. Those creepy dead eyes. Yuck. That’s what you get when you’re curious. Now I have to pay the price. I can’t even watch Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video. I always look a way when I see those zombies and the werewolf.

There’s a trailer with the upcoming movie ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’. I could not watch the movie even if Lee Pace is in. I rather not see it because of the possible creepy stuff. Even the thought of the creepiness, is agonizing. First of all I don’t like to look at mutated things and secondly horror stuff are a bit silly as well.

I’ve never understood the fascination with horror and creepy stuff. When people talk about these ‘popular’ TV shows, it just bores the hell out of me. I just have nothing in common with people who like that kind of stuff. Just keep all that creepiness away from me, please.
