So tired, tired of waiting, tired of waiting for

Game of Thrones, 4th season. Why can’t these shows never appear on Finnish TV earlier. It takes months and months after the season is over in the US before it’s shown here. It’s a real shame. I can understand it takes time to get the TV rights and put the subtitles on but still it could happen earlier. Then again when it’s shown here, it’s always 5 episodes in a row. And the other 5 later on. At least that’s something. The worse things are the spoilers. People keep talking about the show on FB or Twitter. And other social media. I feel left out. That’s one of the downsides of living in Finland. Things gets here slowly.

I’ve watched Game of Thrones from season 1. There was a lot of talk about it so I decided to watch it. It takes at least two episodes before I start to like a TV show. The same with this one. At first I was a bit confused with the plots. There were also a lot of characters to keep up with. I had no idea who was who and still don’t. And don’t ask me which characters are the best because when it comes to names, I’m really bad at it. I remember faces but not names. I had to visit IMDb for the names.
One things for sure, Joffrey is definitely to most annoying spoilt brat in TV history. Great actor but the character is not. He deserves to be slapped. If I would relate to any character, it would be Arya. She’s a bit like me, a strong-willed tomboy. But I’m not as brave as her though. Also Daenerys and her dragons kicks a$$.
At first I didn’t know if Tyrion Lannister was bad or good but as the seasons went by, he seems to be the only one of the family with a heart. So I would say he has become one of my favorite male characters (and not forgetting Jon Snow)

Even though the sex and nudity scenes are a bit over the top, Game of Thrones has become one of my favorite TV shows. So this news makes me really happy.

‘Game of Thrones’ renewed for TWO more seasons

Tunes from yesterday

You knows those songs that were popular once but now you won’t hear them anywhere. Except on the internet.
I know lots of those songs. I had some of them on cassettes that I had taped and some of them I remember hearing in the past. And boy were there a lot. It took me almost all day to make this list. There’s 60 of them but there are even more out there. Lot of those are from the 1990’s.

Here they are.  Forgotten tunes

Enjoy.

I’m no bookworm but…

The Hobbit:There and back again (Finnish version)
The Hobbit or There and Back again (Finnish version)

I’ve mentioned before that I’ve read The Hobbit. I read it before the movies came out. I wanted to compare how I would see the movies after I read the book. With the Lord of the rings, I never finished it so it was a bit different to see those movies. I had no idea what to expect. I just went with the flow. With The Hobbit it was a bit different. I knew what would happen. Well almost. I read the book when the movies were still in the planning stage and my memory is selective.

Anyway, since it was a while since I read the book. I bought it so I could read it again. Now when I’ve seen the movies (one is left) I could just skip the beginning and read the end of the book. But that’s like cheating. I already know some of it (like who will die and that stuff) but I just have to be patient and wait for the movie version. Because the book version is in the imagination of the reader but the movie is in the imagination of the director. In this case Peter Jackson. Some people complaining “it’s not in the book, it’s not in the book” should just shut it. And I don’t mean it in a nice way 😛

If you haven’t read The Hobbit or There and Back again yet. Do it. So what if it’s a kid’s book, so is Harry Potter. But adults still read those. What are you still waiting for?
