Bloganuary: You live and learn

I learned recently that I shouldn’t get upset at the neighbour for moving their furniture against the floor. Foolishly, I moved an armchair back and forth to pay back. I think I pulled a muscle or something because my right arm hurts when I lift my arm. It’s been for three days. I don’t know if I should go to the doctor or wait until it gets better. First, I had the flu for three weeks and now this. Not a nice way to start the year.

You live and learn. Life wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t learn anything new. I love learning new things, so I’ve studied a lot. I am studying filmmaking at the moment, and even if some of it is a repeat, there will also be new things to learn. It’s not only that but to experience new things on the side. We are taught by professionals who have been in the filmmaking industry for a long time. We have about screenplay writing, editing and filming. It’s an exciting subject. Later, we are going to a film studio where we are all day. That’s something you don’t get anywhere else.

Knowledge is never a bad thing. Whether learning from your mistakes or learning new things, every day should be about becoming better educated. If you don’t know about something, you can try to find the answer online. Or you can go to school and learn it. Learning is also good for the soul and mind.

Bloganuary: Happiest day of my life

happy day book

I have had many happy days. The day when I finished elementary school. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I was bored with school when I was 15. I’ve already been one extra year when I had to repeat 4th grade. I was also happy when the education in health studies ended. I didn’t want to be there in the first place, but I had to start somewhere. I was happy when I finished my two-year-old studies because I didn’t give up even if things weren’t always nice. I’ve been happy to leave jobs I didn’t like. I was happy to get elected to study at Helsinki Design School. I was happy to get a few job interviews even if I didn’t get picked. There were also happy days when I was a child and my sister was still alive. Life needs to have happy days, or life wouldn’t be enjoyable.

There is one day that beats every other happy day, and that was my birthday last year. I had been waiting for it for years, and then it finally happened. I saw Duran Duran in concert. It was a rainy day, but I enjoyed every moment. That was the happiest day of my life. Of course, it was also a happy day when I saw Robbie Williams in concert, but I didn’t have to wait for it for years like I did with Duran Duran. Since I saw the video of ‘The Reflex‘, I have wanted to see them in concert. They were supposed to be here earlier, but it was cancelled. So when it finally happened, and it was my birthday, I went. It was also the first time I lived in a hotel alone. I was lucky to have been quite close to the stage. It was a shame the weather wasn’t better, but when you finally get to see one of your favourite bands, it doesn’t matter. I got wet even if I had my raincoat on, but it was the happiest day of my life.

There will be more happy days this year. I’m going to three different concerts. The one I’m looking forward to most is the Take That concert. That’s a band I never saw in concert because my mother didn’t let me go. They are a trio now, so it won’t be the same, but they still sound great. That concert will be one of the happiest days of my life because one of my dreams will come true. It’s outdoors, the same place where the Duran Duran concert was. I’ll be close to the stage this time too. Hopefully. Let’s hope the weather will be better.

Bloganuary: Repost: Achievement doesn’t come easy

Life is a challenge. To achieve something, you need to go through a long process. You can’t wait for things to happen. Achievement doesn’t come easy. It doesn’t need to be anything significant. Some people think that if you haven’t achieved anything big, you haven’t had any real success. But that doesn’t define it. If you’ve struggled through and overcome a problem, that’s an achievement. You don’t need to be wealthy, famous or popular among other people to feel you’ve succeeded in something.

My achievements might not mean anything to others, but for me, they’re everything. They are all my personal achievements. There have been times I wanted to quit, but I kept going anyway. I studied things I wanted, but there was always a doubt that it might not be the right one. I never wanted long-time studies. Two years are the longest. I couldn’t do something that took 4 years or more. Especially when I get older. It’s a shame that despite my efforts in all that studying, I have never got a job. Only one, but that was two years ago, and I was still technically unemployed. Maybe I’m just not that good after all. I don’t have any achievements when it comes to jobs. It feels like I’m being left out. If it’s a job search or posting things on social media. I just want to give them both up because it’s all in vain. Even blogging feels like a waste of time. It’s not easy to stay motivated when everybody else seems to succeed in what they do. Maybe people have forgotten that when someone posts online are supposed to be active. Like posts, maybe comment. Perhaps I’m too dull, and the things I post are uninteresting to others. It might sound pathetic, but I like my own posts on social media because then, at least, it doesn’t feel unnecessary.

It’s not easy trying to achieve something. Maybe it’s easier for some. For me, getting a driver’s license is a big deal. In a month, it’s been a year. I thought I would never get through the driving lessons and the theory. I failed it 26 years ago, but now it is easier. I wish people would have been more excited for me, but I guess it’s no big deal. I was glad to have achieved it. It’s gonna take a lot of practice to get better at it. I have only driven my dad’s car alone once, but that was only a short drive, and there wasn’t much traffic. Driving on the motorway is too scary, and I don’t like driving in traffic. It takes more than a year to learn the process of driving a car. As long as I don’t drive into something or someone, then it’s okay.

I enjoy the small achievements I get. Getting this post finished is one of them. I don’t know what else to do to get some attention to it, but I still write for myself, and that should be enough for me.
