Don’t rush me

What I hate the most is to rush things. I want to do things at my own pace. Things go better when I get the time to do them. If I need to rush things, I only get agitated. If I get an assignment, I will do it, but if you rush me, it won’t get finished faster. Life is not a competition where you must finish things before everyone else. I’ve never understood why you need to rush things. For example, if school or work starts at 9 a.m., what’s the big deal if you get late for a few minutes? Will you miss something? You can’t always be on time. As long as you don’t make a habit of being late. If I know I will be late, I won’t hurry because someone is waiting for me. I don’t like running to places. I like being on time, so I try to have enough time so I don’t need to rush. Especially if it comes to public transport. You need to be on time because it won’t wait. The last time I had to rush was when I had to catch a train while studying filmmaking this year. I almost overslept, and I had to hurry up. It was awful, but I did get to the train on time. I was totally knackered, and it reminded me how much I hate to rush.

The first time you need to rush is knowing what you want to be when you grow up. It begins when you turn 16 or 17. Should you attend high school (it’s voluntary in Finland) or not. That was an easy choice for me. By then, I was tired of school and didn’t like reading. I knew what I didn’t want to be. The most challenging part was what I wanted to do. When some people try to find their “calling” through work, I did it with studying. Maybe it was the wrong way to go because I lack work experience today, and now I must pay the price. But I did it my way, and other people did theirs. People tried to rush me to make decisions, but I always had my thoughts and needs. You can’t go back to the past to change things. You can only look forward. I can’t become something I’m not. I like learning new things, but I do without being rushed. Sometimes, it feels like time running out, and soon, I’m too old to become anything. That feeling goes away, though. If one dream won’t come true, then you have another one. But one thing is sure: I won’t rush to do anything.

A queue of enjoyable writing

What do you enjoy most about writing?

Daily Prombt
1–2 minutes

What I mostly enjoy about writing is that I have time to think. I prefer it to speaking. You don’t have time to say what you want when you talk, at least in my case. I often wish I had said something, but time has passed, and people have changed the subject. Sometimes I use a pencil and paper, but mostly I type on the computer. It’s faster, and your hand don’t get tired. I don’t only write this blog, but I also write fiction. It’s a queue of enjoyable writing.

I don’t know if you can call it a problem, but I don’t seem to finish the stories I’ve written. There is a queue of unfinished work. I just get bored of the stories and get new ideas. Writing can be stressful sometimes, but I enjoy it the most when I get my thoughts written down. Everyone is good at something, and writing is my strongest point. Especially when it comes to imagination. Writing is enjoyable when ideas come pouring. When I write, it can take hours. But when ideas don’t come, it’s then when I don’t like writing.

There are times I don’t have the motivation to write, so I take a break. A break would do everyone good, and then come back stronger than ever. Having a break from something creative, you find new inspiration to continue. It doesn’t need to be creative; it can be anything you do in life. Writing is a great hobby to have, and I hope I will do it for a long time.

Professions to be desired

What profession do you admire most and why?

Daily writing prompt

Many professions are essential because if no one doesn’t clean or take care of the elderly, for example, nothing would be done. I admire a lot of professions, people who save lives and even garbage people. They do a job I could never do. I get anxious when I see people in pain, and I don’t like touching people. I’m not made to do a profession like that. I admire people who do those jobs, though.

A profession I admire the most is actors and actresses. Acting is a tough job. They can play roles where they need to do things I could never do, like doing love scenes and such. They also need to be brave, and I admire people that are. It doesn’t need to be in a profession. Actors and actresses can play different kinds of people. They can play other characters and try different jobs without going to school to become them. Becoming an actor is also quite tricky. They don’t give up; even if they struggle, they won’t give up their dream. They might need a talisman if they want to be successful. It’s a competitive business, and not everyone will become big stars. Actors and actresses aren’t fairly treated in recent years, with being paid relatively and getting compensation from streaming services. They’re also afraid of getting replaced by Artificial intelligence. That’s why the strike is going on at the moment. In my opinion, actors and actresses won’t be replaced by AI because acting still needs to be done by real people. Watching movies and TV series wouldn’t be the same as now. Humans should never be replaced by robots in any profession.
