“I am fire… I am… Death”

So I got my The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug DVD  in the post yesterday. Even though I’ve seen it at least 10 times (or maybe under, I haven’t counted) now on the internet, I still can’t get enough. Even though it was late and I had to get up early the next day, I had to watch it last night. Smaug is still creepy, it’s that well made. Even if I have watched the movie many times, I never memorize the dialogues. Some people who have watched it a lot of times, might know it from word to word but my memory is not that good. I watched Lord of the rings 50+ at least by now but I still don’t remember dialogues by heart. Always search for them on the internet if I want to quote something.

Even though there’s gonna be an extended version of The Hobbit, I just couldn’t wait that long. Call me crazy but I always buy both versions. I’ve done the same with Lord of the rings. Some people spend their money on useless things like cigarettes or alcohol but I buy DVD’s. At least that doesn’t smell bad unlike those other things.

“I am patient. I can wait”

That’s one of the reasons I could never be an Elf. I have no patience at all and I can’t wait. I couldn’t be a Hobbit either. First, I’m not that short and secondly, I have no courage so I won’t surprise you with it. Maybe I could be an orc but I don’t take orders from bad people. And being a wizard is out of the question. So the only thing I could be is, nobody, really.

The best thing about these DVD’s, are the extras. Very interesting facts and interviews with the cast. A shame though, that there are no commentary with the actors in the movies, like they had in Lord of the rings. Those were so amusing. But you can’t have everything.

What are you laughing at?

My favorite genre is comedy (other is action) People find different things funny. And some have no sense of humour. I laugh at almost anything. What I don’t find funny, is things like Jackass. Grown men doing stuff where they get hurt, looks childish to me. The only thing that is funny, is how stupid they look. The American Pie movies are childish as well. Not my kind of thing at all.

But I must admit, below the belt jokes are kind of funny. Only when they are tastefully done though. Like Austin Powers. “Do I make you feel horny, baby” Suggestions kind of things. Not really saying it out loud. Difficult to describe in English (in any language to be precise) I hope you understand what I mean.

I mostly laugh at funny faces or someone falling over. I love British comedy. Monty Python, Mr Bean, The Fast show, just to name a few. I think older sketch programs are better than new ones. Even though Little Britain is kind of amusing but not as good as older comedy shows. I absolutely love Stephen Fry, Rowan Atkinson, Billy Connelly and Hugh Laurie. They really have become big stars outside the UK.

Most comedy shows and movies I like are Americans. They just happen to be something I find funny. And they are very good at it. I’ve been watching The Golden Girls lately and it never gets old. They just don’t make those kind of shows anymore. Move over Sex in the city. You’ll never be as good as The Golden Girls! I tried to watch Sex in the city but I just didn’t find it funny. There were something funny but I don’t really care about relationship and that kind of TV shows.

I did write about what I like last year and humour was one on my 5 favorite things. Jim Carrey is my favourite but I also like Robin Williams. He’s really talented. His interviews are never dull. He can also play serious roles and still be believable. It’s also a pleasure to watch Conan. A shame it’s not shown on Finnish TV. But thanks to Youtube I can always watch the best parts. It’s much better than Jay Leno. Even though his show is not bad either.

I’m really glad older comedy show that I used to watch when I was a child are released on DVD. Which reminds me, I should really watch that Love Boat DVD I bought weeks ago. I hope I don’t die laughing.

Please,no more creepy stuff thank you very much

Since I saw ‘Snow White and Seven Dwarfs’ at age 3, I haven’t liked creepy stuff. I never been into vampires, monsters etc. kind of movies or TV shows. The likes of ‘True Blood’, ‘Supernatural’ nor ‘The Walking Dead’ just creeps me out. Even the Orcs or Uruk Hai’s in ‘Lord of the rings’ were creepy. At the start I just couldn’t look when they were on the screen. I’ve watched X-Files a few times and even then, I just looked away. I just find it disgusting. I’ve never watched ‘American Psycho’ with Christian Bale because of the creepy stuff. Even seeing scenes from the movie, is difficult. I just can’t do it. When watching e.g. CSI where they show dead bodies, makes me look away as well.

When I was 7, I watched a movie in secret from my parents in my room. In it, there was a dead body with its eyes opened in a trunk of a car and the killer with a wrench in its hand. I saw nightmares a few nights after that. I still remember it. Those creepy dead eyes. Yuck. That’s what you get when you’re curious. Now I have to pay the price. I can’t even watch Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video. I always look a way when I see those zombies and the werewolf.

There’s a trailer with the upcoming movie ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’. I could not watch the movie even if Lee Pace is in. I rather not see it because of the possible creepy stuff. Even the thought of the creepiness, is agonizing. First of all I don’t like to look at mutated things and secondly horror stuff are a bit silly as well.

I’ve never understood the fascination with horror and creepy stuff. When people talk about these ‘popular’ TV shows, it just bores the hell out of me. I just have nothing in common with people who like that kind of stuff. Just keep all that creepiness away from me, please.
