Listening to the voices in my head

Can’t Stand Me

When I read the daily post subject of today I thought it was about what you dislike about yourself. But when I saw it’s about what’s worse, hearing your own voice or seeing yourself on video, it’s almost right.
I would say my voice. It’s OK when I talk and record my voice but when I hear it in something else, then it’s horrible. I heard my voice on the radio once when I won a competition and I sounded like my mother. That’s the least thing you want to sound like. When I answered a phone, the person on the other end thought I was her. It was not the sound of her voice, the problem was I sounded like her. Like twins. I wanted a voice of my own. Sometimes I hate my voice. I can barely listen to myself when I’m at my worse.

It’s not that unbearable when it comes to seeing myself on video. I was on TV once and I wasn’t as horrified as when I see myself on photos. That’s even worse. That’s a reason I don’t post selfies and photos where you can see me. I prefer being behind the camera. I’m just not that photogenic. When I see myself in photos as an adult, the voice in my head says, ugly. It was different when I was a kid. I was cute then. I don’t know what happened. Adding a photo of myself to a CV terrifies me. I avoid every single photo of me as much as I can. I rather let people see me in real life than in photos or videos.

Game of Leaks

It started again. 5th season of Game of Thrones. You didn’t know I’m a fan of the show? OK, well I’m a fan of Game of Thrones. Not a fan that collect merchandise and things like that. Just a fan that loves the show. I still don’t remember half of the character’s names but there’s so many of them anyway. I’m not very good with names. I know how someone looks like but I never remember their names. That’s the same with life. I have a good memory of faces but that’s about it.

I really looked forward to this season. But then someone leaked the first 4 episodes on the internet. Not very surprising since it’s the most bootlegged TV series. Of course Tumblr was full of those spoilers. I don’t understand why some people wants to ruin things for others. They can’t really be trustworthy in real life. If they can’t keep the spoilers to themselves then they’re not very good at keeping secrets. I understand some are excited but when it comes to internet, you can’t really ignore spoilers. No matter what you do. Luckily some do put spoiler alert on their posts.
Personally I don’t like spoilers. They ruin all the excitement from a movie or a TV show. I’m not gonna watch those episodes in advance. I have enough of self-control. The point is the waiting for the next one. Looking forward to something makes it more fun. If you already seen all 4 episodes, you have to wait another month to see the next one. That’s not much fun, is it?!

I don’t really know why some have the urge to leak unseen episodes on the internet. Not just Game of Thrones but also movies. They are usually bad quality anyway. Not that it matters to me. I’m not very fussy about screen quality. I watched sports online and the quality is not the best but that’s better than nothing. As long as you can see what’s going on.
If the episodes have already been seen on TV then this leak thing is a different matter. But since it’s not, is not that nice. It does spoil the excitement for season 5. There are those who have seen the leaked episodes and those who haven’t. It’s a bit unfair. Those who has, can only blame themselves for watching them in advance. I’ve read on Tumblr how they complain about having to wait for a month. That’s what you get and now you have to pay the price.

I for one will watch Game of Thrones once a week. I really look forward to those. Waiting a week is much better than waiting for a month. Good things come to those who wait.

So many movies so little money

So 2015 started and a new year is here. So what to do. See movies of course. In a movie theater/cinema to be precise. I don’t go that often because in recent years there haven’t been movies I’ve wanted to see. I usually went a few times a year. It’s also quite expensive. I don’t really fancy being in the theater. There’s always something disturbing. Someone talking or someone rustling with their candy bags. Just other people basically. Also quite irritating that people are rushing out after the movie theater like there’s a fire somewhere. I always stay to the end.

Last year I went 4 times which is quite rare. But they were movies I wanted to see. (Guardians of the galaxy, Into to the storm and The Hobbit (twice) ) I only pay for a ticket for a movie that are worth my time and it’s always in 2D. I don’t like 3D. This year there’s gonna be quite a few. Yes there is life after The Hobbit 😉

Seventh Son
It’s out today (January 2) in Finland. It’s based on a book. Starring Ben Barnes ❤ ,Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Kit Harington. I’m planning to go in next week.

Exodus: Gods and Kings
It was realised in December 26 over here but then I saw the ticket price, I decided to wait. And I still wait. It seems I have to wait until they have a day when it’s less expensive. Or I won’t go at all. The reason I want to see it is, Christian Bale. And I saw the trailer before The Hobbit movie started. It also looks interesting. It has a lot of criticism but who really cares. It’s a movie for crying out loud. Nothing to do with real events.

The Imitation game
Two words: Benedict Cumberbatch. I haven’t seen the trailer or don’t know what it’s about. I usually try to found information about a movie first before I decide to watch it or not. This time I’m gonna take another approach. The movie will be out in February so it’s gonna take a while.

Paddington
This was also out on January 2. I didn’t think of going to see this but I saw the trailer and it looked like fun. I remember watching Paddington on TV when I was a child. I still have a Paddinton piggy bank. The bear is sitting on his suitcase, wearing a hat. Like this one but the jacket is blue. I have it in a box somewhere.
There’s also a dubbed version of the movie but imagine Nicole Kidman “speaking” Finnish 😀 The original is always the best.

So quite a lot of movies for me to see this year. If I get to see them (bloody ticket prices) that’s another story. This is my “going to see a movie”- plan 2015.
