What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

Writing Daily Prompt

Quoting, Who Wants to Live Forever, A song by Queen. I don’t think I will have a long life. I think it has to do a lot with your genes and not with how healthy your life is. Some people die without having to do much, and then some people smoke and drink alcohol but still live a long life. None of my relatives have lived to their 90s. Except for my Dad’s half-sister, I don’t know if she’s still alive. Her kids don’t tell me anything. She was at least 91 years old in 2023.

My big sister died when she was 10 due to illness in 1983. My Dad’s mother passed away at 81 in 1989, and my mum’s mother died when she was 86 in 2003. She had a stroke and lived in a retirement home for 10 years before passing away. Mum died when she was 68 from cancer in 2013. Then, my Dad died at 79 of pancreatitis last year. On March 8, it will be a year. I don’t think I’ll have a very long life. I wouldn’t know what to do with the life I’ve been given. One thing is for sure: the world will be different in 30-35 years. You don’t know how much life you got because anything can happen. I wouldn’t want to live forever. There are enough problems in the present.

I think I don’t want to look further than what might happen this year or in a couple of months. I always try to be careful in anything I do. You can’t choose at what age you’re going to die. Your life can end in a blink of an eye, or you might be lucky enough to live a long life. Even if you’re careful, you can still meet bad luck, so you never know. You can only hope for a long life, but nothing is certain. Death will come no matter what. Life is for the living, and you should be able to live it the way you want. As long as it doesn’t disturb others, you might get a long life if you want it. Try to get along with others, and you will avoid many problems.

What is your mission?

Bloganuary 2024

My mission depends on what it is. In life, I don’t know what my mission is. But my life isn’t planned ahead. In the end, it’s you who should have the choice of how to live it. At least as far as you can control it. You must have some luck, but I’m not a lucky dog. It doesn’t even get close to me. Maybe I’m doing it wrong. I’ve applied for a graphic design job, but who knows if I get close to it. At least, that’s a mission accomplished. No one can blame me for not trying.

I hope my mission is not about forgetting to live my own life. My father is turning 80 this year, and his memory is not the way it used to be. I hope I don’t need to take care of him and forget my own life. I don’t want my life to change that much. It might sound selfish thinking about this, but it feels like I haven’t lived as much as other people my age. So far, my father is doing fine by himself, but you never know how things could change.

My current mission is to find a job or some kind of work where I can earn money. Other missions are unknown.

Making your own luck doesn’t exist

stick boyWhoever says you can make your own luck, haven’t walked in an unlucky person’s shoes. If you can make it yourself, then they really are lucky. Everyone is not born with luck. You can’t choose where to be born or who your parents are. You can achieve a goal but you need some luck in that too. You can’t make your own luck because there’s so many ways to lose it all in one go. You can do everything right and yet something can happen. No one can be lucky all the time. Things misfires when you least expect it. You can go somewhere and you still don’t meet someone who can change your future. You can get lucky but you can’t make it by yourself. Those who think they can, are lying to themselves. What happens to you, depends on other people. Innocent people in war zones can’t make their luck. It’s the society that bring luck or bad luck to people.

Luck only seem to happen to other people. Just because someone has been lucky enough to make their luck, it doesn’t mean it will happen to you. There’s a lot of different advice online how you can do that. But I think they’re all nonsense. For example, working hard for your goal or make something crazy. It’s all pure chance, not luck. You won’t become rich by making your luck. You can’t make yourself be in the right place at the right time. Getting a job in your ideal company or study to become something you dreamed on. It’s luck that gets you to a place and not how you make it yourself. I’ve been lucky I have got the educations I’ve applied to but I didn’t make my own luck. All I did was writing the right words in an application. The rest was pure luck. If that only would happen when it comes to applying for jobs.

I’ve been unlucky in finding clients for on the job learning period which begins on Monday. I had 4 but now I only have one because the rest didn’t get in touch after a few emails. That’s not enough. I want to graduate and if I won’t get more, I won’t. I guess the word free doesn’t mean much for some. When the school is over, my luck could be returned to sender. In other words, getting real clients who pay. Now it’s gaining experience and it’s part of the education. I’m worried no matter how much I work, it won’t be enough. You need luck to be in competition like web design and I don’t have enough of ambition in me. I give up easily. Having luck in education and having luck getting a job, is a different matter. You don’t make your own luck, it’s the people you meet or don’t. With my luck, nothing special will happen. I’ll never “bump” into someone who’ll change my life around. It’s more likely to get hit by a car than having my dreams come true. It’s a harsh comment but I don’t have the skill to make my own luck.
