advent calendar 14May the force be with you. I went to see ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘ today. The movie series is a legend in itself. This is not a movie review so there won’t be any spoilers. What I will say is, when I saw Carrie Fisher on the screen, I did feel sadness she’s no longer with us. She was a legend and so is Mark Hamill. So it was great to see those two on the screen together for the last time. I really liked the movie. That’s all I’m gonna say about that.

The force is real in this life too. It’s the force within you. You can either give up or you can keep fighting to the end. If you give into negative thoughts, you will fall to the dark side. Meaning, you can begin to hate and do awful things to other people because all those negative thoughts had taken over your mind. If you have more positive thoughts, you stay on the good side. You don’t get manipulated easily by negativity. A strong person has good willpower and walks their own path without caring what others might think. A person who has in their own mind been treated wrongly begin to treat others like dirt. But if a person is strong, they understand they can’t change the past. It’s the positive force in you that keep you away from harm.

I think my force within has become stronger. It hasn’t always been like that. There have been times I felt I wasn’t good enough. I still have those moments when everything seems too impossible and I just want to quit. But I haven’t felt desperation. People who have done me wrong haven’t been around in my life for years. The best revenge has been not having any contact with those people. They never did deserve my friendship or any of my time. If life was a movie, I would be a very bad villain. I just wouldn’t care how people have treated me in the past. I would have moved on ages ago. A character like Kylo Ren who hasn’t got away from his past but instead decides to get revenge. That’s a typical villain that you see in movies all the time. If you sink that low, nothing will change. Hate is a wasted feeling which is why I don’t dwell on something that has already happened.

One thing that I will say about ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’. There is no post-credit scene so no need to stay to the end. That was just an observation. May the strong force be within you and be your own legend.

advent calendar 4This calendar is not only about Christmas. You can’t colour me in patina to make me write about that all the time. Besides, I will run out of Christmas topics before the end if I do.

This year I’ve been to the movies quite a bit. Some years I probably only go see one or two. It depends on what’s in store. In 2017 I’ve seen 6 movies and one more to come. That’s a personal record. I’ve seen ‘Kong: Skull Island’ (twice), ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’, ‘Paddington 2’, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and the latest is ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ In 10 days it’s “Star Wars The last Jedi.

Watching movies has been an escape since I was 9 or 10. The first movie I ever saw was when I was 3 years old. I belonged to a movie club with my mother when I was in primary school where we went to see one movie once a week. It was movies for kids.
I always stay until the end. Most people leave as soon as the movie ends. Some movies have post-credit scenes. Like the Kong movie. You see people online being surprised there have been one. Well, you should have stayed until the end. It’s kind of funny reading people reactions. I don’t know why people are such in a hurry. Movie tickets are not cheap so you might just enjoy it while it last.

People have their snacks and drinks in the movie theatre. Then they have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie. I had to do it once when I saw ‘Batman, The dark knight rises’ and I hope I never have to do it again. I dislike missing scenes from movies. That’s one of the reasons why I never have anything to drink at the movies. I don’t even have candy with me that often. When you eat sweets, you get thirsty and then you have to drink. You know what happens when you do. At home, you can pause a movie but at the movies, you can’t.

The problem going to the movies are other people in there. Sometimes there are people who neither can’t be quiet or they keep rustle their candy bags. Luckily there haven’t been any nightmare viewers when I’m been to the movies. The other is commercials. 15 minutes of the same ones you see on TV and then a few movie trailers. I’ve started to arrive at the theatre about 10 minutes before the movie begins. Even that is too early. It’s wrong to pay for a ticket and then waiting for the commercials to end. 10 minutes would be enough. I don’t know why movie theatres do it. Trailers I can do but commercials are too much. Especially when they’re so stupid these days. You just have to accept the way things are. Nothing beats a movie on the big screen. That’s something you can’t get at home.

What I prefer

I used to make a list to me about which one I prefer the most. It could be a colour, a person or just about anything really. I did it for fun. I drew 3 boxes on a paper. The middle was neither way or both. A bit like the one on the photo above. This time I’ll do it differently so here we go.

Blue or White

Blue. White makes me look pale. Blue is also my favourite colour. When I was a child I used to stay in the swimming pool until my lips were blue. I liked it that much. But that’s just a fact about me so that’s not the reason why I like the colour the best. My eyes are blue too.

Comedies or Romantic movies

Comedies definitely. The only romantic movie I like is ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ I think romantic movies are too boring for my taste.

Loki or Thor

This is a difficult but maybe Thor. I have this love/hate feelings towards Loki. I find him irritated but yet if he wasn’t in the Marvel movies, I wouldn’t care much. It’s also because of Tom Hiddleston. Later on that.

Instagram or Pinterest

Pinterest because it’s more versatile and you can use it better on the computer. Instagram is kind of new to me. I’ve only had it a couple of years. The problem with it is that you can’t post there from a computer. I use it more for looking at other people’s photos than posting my own.

Dark hair or Blonde on men

Tall, dark and handsome. Cliché but so true. I’ve always fancied men with dark hair. In the end, it doesn’t really matter what hair colour they have. It’s about the person anyway.

Cat or Dog

Neither but if I had to choose it would be a cat. I used to be terrified of dogs but I guess time heals. Cats are more independent so you don’t have to take time out for a walk few times a day. I’m actually a bunny person. Those were to only ones I dared to touch. Even though when I see photos of both on Instagram, I could almost get one. I don’t have the time or money to have a pet though.

Tom Hiddleston or Channing Tatum

This is a no-brainer. Tom obviously. I’ve never understood the Channing fascination. I never found him attractive in any way. I don’t know much about his acting skills since he makes movies I don’t care much about. He had a small part in the Johnny Depp and Christian Bale movie ‘Public Enemies’ but that’s all.
Tom on the other hand, wow. I could talk about him all day. I tell you a secret. He’s (and Lee Pace) the inspiration for my poems on this blog. I never thought I would like him this much as I do now. That’s what you get when you stare too long. Acting skills and appearance etc.

Summer or Winter

Winter because of snow. When we get it that is. Some people think it’s too cold or too dark but it suits me much better. Summer is too hot and too light. Summer is good if the weather is mild and it gets darker later. I still prefer winter though.

Lastly but not least.

Walking or Running

Walking. I hate running. It feels like my legs are falling off. It’s sweaty too. I have sensitive skin so it begins to itch and I get a rash. It’s very unpleasant. I also hate being in a hurry. Walking is much nicer. My walk is usually fast-paced but sometimes I walk slowly too.
