Life is too short to

Hate. Why not spend your time with something you like? Life is too short to hate. The reason there are wars, are because of the hate. Some have issues with the past and they keep on hating. It continues from generation to generation. Why all the hate when there’s so much to love to give? We only live once. We should use our energy to more important things. Things won’t get better if people keep hating. It just gets worse. Like those terrorists that wants revenge because someone has killed their families. Of course it’s awful to lose your family but taking your anger on someone else is not right. By killing others won’t get their families back. You just have to accept what you have lost.

Then there’s hate against homosexuals or the color of a person’s skin. That’s something you can’t change and yet there are people who hate them. Hating someone because they’re different, is just not acceptable. If you don’t like somebody then just go back to your dream world where everyone feels and looks the same. Everybody should be allowed to walk on the streets without feeling fear. There’s no point becoming violent against other person. If you hate another human being, then you must hate yourself. No matter how much racists and homophones whine, the world will always have different people in it. There’s nothing no one can do about that.

Then there’s milder hate. Hate towards a band, celeb or any other subject. There used to be (maybe still is) a  trend where people had anti web pages. Doesn’t these people have something they love? Why waste your time having a hate page anyway? If you don’t like it then don’t. No one has forced anyone to like everything.
There are things I don’t like but I rather concentrate on things I like. Life too short to hate.

Extended VersionLike The Beatles sang “All you need is love” Which leads to what I love. That love I picked up from the post office today. The Hobbit: The Desolations of Smaug. The Extended Edition. I absolutely love those. The same with Lord of the rings. Great interviews, behind the scenes and of course the most important thing, deleted scenes. There hasn’t been any actor commentators like the Lord of the rings had. Maybe there’s a reason for that. That’s a shame since those were fun.

I usually don’t take part in The Daily Prompt but today’s subject was something I knew what to write about. Writing is the other thing I love. It’s much more fun to love than hate. Don’t you think?

“I am fire… I am… Death”

So I got my The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug DVD  in the post yesterday. Even though I’ve seen it at least 10 times (or maybe under, I haven’t counted) now on the internet, I still can’t get enough. Even though it was late and I had to get up early the next day, I had to watch it last night. Smaug is still creepy, it’s that well made. Even if I have watched the movie many times, I never memorize the dialogues. Some people who have watched it a lot of times, might know it from word to word but my memory is not that good. I watched Lord of the rings 50+ at least by now but I still don’t remember dialogues by heart. Always search for them on the internet if I want to quote something.

Even though there’s gonna be an extended version of The Hobbit, I just couldn’t wait that long. Call me crazy but I always buy both versions. I’ve done the same with Lord of the rings. Some people spend their money on useless things like cigarettes or alcohol but I buy DVD’s. At least that doesn’t smell bad unlike those other things.

“I am patient. I can wait”

That’s one of the reasons I could never be an Elf. I have no patience at all and I can’t wait. I couldn’t be a Hobbit either. First, I’m not that short and secondly, I have no courage so I won’t surprise you with it. Maybe I could be an orc but I don’t take orders from bad people. And being a wizard is out of the question. So the only thing I could be is, nobody, really.

The best thing about these DVD’s, are the extras. Very interesting facts and interviews with the cast. A shame though, that there are no commentary with the actors in the movies, like they had in Lord of the rings. Those were so amusing. But you can’t have everything.

The reason why The Oscars is a big farce

I decided to watch The Oscars after all last night. Even though I didn’t plan to. Usually I wouldn’t care much about it. First of all, it’s usually just a show-off party where celebrities dress up and feel important for a night. And secondly the nominations are quite boring. Those that really deserve a nomination are never nominated. Also there’s too many awards. Who really cares about those less important ones. Face it, all that people care about is who wins Best Actor/Actresses and Best Picture.

One of the reason I watched the show was because Ellen was the presenter and she’s really funny. She did a great job. But what was this ordering pizza thing? Were they trying to fill the time with this nonsense? That was really boring and silly. That ‘Selfie’ thing was OK but that pizza thing wasn’t. I was more embarrassed for the actors who took part in it. It was different but still unnecessary. The rest was great. Ellen wasn’t chosen to be the presenter for nothing.

What makes a farce of this show is the nominations and the winners. The Academy has never appreciated trilogies or movie series like Bond and such. Those kind of movies never get nominated. The people in the academy seem to have been stuck in a rut. They don’t want anything new. “It’s always been like that” they might say. OK, whatever. Time for a change in “your policy”
This years The Oscars were unpredictable. What annoyed me the most was the same movie winning awards; ‘Gravity’ I never hated a movie I haven’t seen but this one really got on my nerves. If it was a person I would strangle it. I was glad it didn’t win Best Picture. That would have been so wrong. Even though I find 12 Years of Slave a bore, that’s better then bloody ‘Gravity’ And even Benedict Cumberbatch won the award. Yay.
Even if I like Sandra Bullock as an actress, I was happy she didn’t win Best Actress. That was an award I was happy Cate Blanchett won. Not only because she’s also in The Hobbit movies but also because she really deserved to win.
Best Actor was the only award that got the nominations right. All 5 deserved the award. Yet again, no award for Leo DiCaprio this time either. But he doesn’t need an award to prove what he’s worth. Same goes with Christian Bale (looked great btw). Matthew McConaughey really deserved to win. Especially after all the great effort he did for the role.

‘Gravity’ is the curse word of today. Especially for the Best Visual Effects. That’s injustice. The Hobbit should have won that. Smaug is the most impressive creation ever. And I’m not just saying it because I love the movie. ‘Gravity’ is nothing compared to that.
But maybe next year, The Hobbit will get the nominations and the wins. Well, it did happen to Lord of the rings so why not now.
