Weekly Writing Challenge: Great Expectations

Expectations, you fulfil them or you don’t. If you expect too much, you get more disappointed. It’s better if you don’t expect at all. That’s what I’ve learned. I just take things as they come.

You take things for granted. When you’re a teenager, you have conflicts with your parents. You might even hate them for a while. Some might even stay that way. You think they don’t care about you so you rebel against them. You rather stay out late at night with your friends than stay at home. You expect your parents to just let you be. Maybe there are parents that really doesn’t care. But most parents do. They just need a reminder from time to time. Kids expect their parents to see they have problems or worries. But parents won’t know if you don’t tell them. One day, they won’t be around anymore.

Blogging 201 (day 5): Give ‘Em what they want

Like in the Pet shop boys song I Don’t Know What You Want but I Can’t Give It Any More

Looking at my stats, the most viewed post of all time is this. Others are writing challenges. What I write by my ‘own devices’ seems to lack viewers. Even though if they have readers (viewers) But challenges has helped me get my blog out there (where ever that is) If people read this blog or not, that I don’t know. When I started blogging, I looked at the stats more seriously. But now they are just guidelines to me. So far the stats has improved. I’m not reaching for the stars so even a small group is welcomed.

From the starts, the blog has only been about things I like and it will remain so. Personal things seem to be an ‘In’ thing these days. But I won’t go there. Maybe once in a while I might go a little deeper to my soul a.k.a personal things. I want to write about things I want to write about, not because it’s popular.

My stats say Thursdays and Fridays are the busiest. So according to that I should only post on those days if I want traffic? No thanks, my ideas come every day of the week. My mind doesn’t work on schedule.

So like Pet Shop Boys, I don’t know what you want but I can’t give it anymore. But what I can give you, is a peak in my world. You’re welcome to stay.

Blogging 201: Get Read all over

So day 4 of Blogging 201

My blog is mobile-friendly. But I don’t care if it is really. I only use the lap top and all those other new gadgets are just meh to me. But since there are people who are “obsessed” to be on the internet everywhere, I’m just gonna let them have it. If you can’t see this blog, then too bad. I won’t change it. As long as you can see my writing that’s all that matters.

I’m a bit disappointed with this Blogging 201. So far it’s only been about layouts etc. I was expecting something with how to get more readers. Maybe I’ve just misunderstood it. I want people to read my blog and not look at the layout. I hope there will be less layout business in the upcoming assignments or it hasn’t been very useful for me.

So that’s done and dusted. Next!
