Tunes from yesterday

You knows those songs that were popular once but now you won’t hear them anywhere. Except on the internet.
I know lots of those songs. I had some of them on cassettes that I had taped and some of them I remember hearing in the past. And boy were there a lot. It took me almost all day to make this list. There’s 60 of them but there are even more out there. Lot of those are from the 1990’s.

Here they are.  Forgotten tunes

Enjoy.

Solitude is not as bad as you think

Decided to take part in this challenge. Sounds like fun. And I’m an introvert so it fits me perfectly.

Solitude is a much better word than lonely or loneliness. Lonely sounds like it’s a bad thing. Everybody needs solitude sometimes. Especially extroverts have problems being alone. I think they’ve been around people too much. If they would be alone at least a while, maybe they wouldn’t be so stressed.

I’ve never had problems with solitude. Maybe I’m just so used to being on my own. That’s much better than having too many people around. I need a place to think. Solitude should be my middle name. I live for it. Without it, I could not think. Even people looking over my shoulder makes me nervous. My solitude is taking my bike out and go for a ride. Luckily I live close to nature. There’s always a place where there’s no people around. Just hearing the birds sing is music for my ears.

Solitude is also in the mind. No one knows what you’re thinking until you say it out loud. Being an introvert has is advantages. You think before you speak. Extroverts should try it once in a while. Find your inner solitude. That will clear your mind and maybe you will learn to listen to others too.

I’m no bookworm but…

The Hobbit:There and back again (Finnish version)
The Hobbit or There and Back again (Finnish version)

I’ve mentioned before that I’ve read The Hobbit. I read it before the movies came out. I wanted to compare how I would see the movies after I read the book. With the Lord of the rings, I never finished it so it was a bit different to see those movies. I had no idea what to expect. I just went with the flow. With The Hobbit it was a bit different. I knew what would happen. Well almost. I read the book when the movies were still in the planning stage and my memory is selective.

Anyway, since it was a while since I read the book. I bought it so I could read it again. Now when I’ve seen the movies (one is left) I could just skip the beginning and read the end of the book. But that’s like cheating. I already know some of it (like who will die and that stuff) but I just have to be patient and wait for the movie version. Because the book version is in the imagination of the reader but the movie is in the imagination of the director. In this case Peter Jackson. Some people complaining “it’s not in the book, it’s not in the book” should just shut it. And I don’t mean it in a nice way 😛

If you haven’t read The Hobbit or There and Back again yet. Do it. So what if it’s a kid’s book, so is Harry Potter. But adults still read those. What are you still waiting for?
